Exposed Aggregate

Exposed aggregate is the “pebbled” look that is achieved by placing the concrete, letting it mostly set, and then “exposing” the small rocks that are within the concrete through high-power pressure-washing. Because of its durability, exposed is a good choice for driveways and other high-traffic areas.

B. Johnson Contracting prides itself in using the best materials available, and our 30 plus years of experience have led us to rely exclusively on Rempel Bros. “Chilliwack River Rock”. It is mostly round rock, giving a smoother exposed look and making it easier on bare feet. For color, beauty, and consistency, we consider Rempel Bros. “Chilliwack River Rock” top of the line.

Stamped Concrete

Stamped concrete is concrete that has a pattern or texture stamped into it before it is completely set. It is possible to add color as well, to achieve many “designer” looks, such as random stone, rocky mountain slate, texture skin, large sandstone, or even tile. Colored and/or stamped concrete is an extremely popular method of adding a designer finish to patios, pool decks, and even entrance halls, interior floors, or driveways. A wide range of colors, from subdued to spectacular, is available.

Forming

Forming is building the wooden “forms” that the concrete is poured into to maintain its shape until it is set. We build all of our own forms, on site or prefabricated, and have the experience to assist you with a layout of your project.

Sealing and Re-Sealing

It is important to protect the investment that you have made in your concrete work. We recommend that ALL exterior concrete be sealed to protect it from the elements, such as acid rain, environmental staining, UV rays and / or vehicle traffic. We can also clean and re-seal your existing concrete, and if it is Stamped, touch up the color.

To maintain a quality finish, all outdoor concrete should be re-sealed as follows:

Stamped Concrete = Once every year (stamped can be re-colored)
Exposed Aggregate = Once every two – three years

re_seal
*NOTE We cannot guarantee re-seal results on very worn or faded concrete.
